Roger D. Stern nacque nel 1934 e si laureò alla Columbia University e fu attivo in campo immobiliare.
Ottimo giocatore vinse il BAM del 1965 e guadagnò diversi altri piazzamenti in campo nazionale guidando la nazionale USA come capitano non giocatore due volte vincendo la Bermuda Bowl nel 1977.
A lungo e fortemente involuto nel bridge amministrativo americano fu anche Presidente del District 24.
Come teorico fu co-ideatore della celebre Astro.
Sposato con Sandy ebbero tre figli: Jordan, Andrew ed Edward.
Scomparve a Chevy Chase il 28 agosto del 2019.
Roger
D. Stern was born in 1934 and graduated from Columbia University and was active
in real estate.
Excellent player, he won the 1965 BAM and gained several other national placements by leading the US national team as a non-player captain twice by winning the Bermuda Bowl in 1977.
For a long time and heavily involved in the American administrative bridge he was also President of District 24.
As a theorist he was co-creator of the famous Astro.
Married to Sandy they had three children: Jordan, Andrew and Edward.
He disappeared in Chevy Chase on August 28, 2019.
