Born in 1937, John Swanson is a Californian adoption bridge player who saw his greatest brilliance in the 1970s.
John, who learned to play as a boy in 1952 by his mother who taught his sisters at the same time to be able to make a home table, attended the State University of Oklahoma and now he live in Lancaster (CA).
He was part of the Aces and won the 1977 World Team Championships after arriving two years earlier.
John also won 5 NABCs including the 1974 and 1976 GNTs, the 1969 and 1977 Vanderbilt, and the 1970 Mitchell.
A well-known writer and contributor to the ACBL Bulletin and other prestigious specialized journals is also remembered as a theoretician by taking part in the innovative bid method called Walsh System.
