Zbigniew Szurig è nato il 13 maggio del 1938 ed è stato uno dei migliori teorici polacchi a metà dello scorso secolo.
Matematico, ha insegnato al Politecnico e al Gottwald di Varsavia.
Ha conquistato decine di titoli nazionali ed in alcune occasioni ha fatto parto della nazionale polacca vincendo il bronzo agli Europei del 1963.
Ideatore di diverse convenzioni, fu forse il primo giocatore ad ideare uno sviluppo dell'appoggio nobile che porta il suo nome e che è basato su auto splinter e trial bid.
Zbig scomparve il 4 agosto del 1984.
Zbigniew
Szurig was born on May 13, 1938 and was one of the
best Polish theorists in the middle of the last
century.
Mathematician, he taught at the Polytechnic and Gottwald in Warsaw.
He won dozens of national titles and on some occasions he made the Polish national team by winning the bronze at the Europeans in 1963.
Creator of different conventions, he was perhaps the first player to devise a development of the noble support that bears his name and that is based on auto splinter and trial bid.
Zbig disappeared on August 4, 1984.
