M. Ünal Tuncer nacque nel 1951 a Malatya nella Turchia centrale dell'est.

 Completò i primi studi a Malatya e li proseguì a Eskiseir dove il padre si era trasferito per lavoro, prima di spostarsi ad Adiyman dove iniziò la sua carriera nelle Ankara Cement Factory azienda nella quale rimase fino al 1986. Durante questo periodo si laureò in Comunicazione presso l'Università dell'Ankara.

 Sposato con due figli, la sua carriera nelle cementerie terminò nel 1986 con il grado di Direttore Commerciale e successivamente lavorò ancora per una ventina di anni come freelance trasferendosi nella capitale.

 Una volta pensionato si appassionò al gioco del bridge che divenne il suo hobby principale e che lo vide impegnato in molti tornei del suo Paese spesso conseguendo lusinghieri risultati e diventando uno dei più conosciuti giocatori del circuito nazionale.

 Ünal si è spento ad Ankara il 26 gennaio del 2023.

  M. Ünal Tuncer was born in 1951 in Malatya in eastern central Türkiye.

 He completed his first studies in Malatya and continued them in Eskiseir where his father had moved for work, before moving to Adiyman where he began his career in the Ankara Cement Factory company where he remained until 1986.

During this period he graduated in Communication at the University of Ankara.

Married with two children, his career in the cement plants ended in 1986 with the rank of Commercial Director and subsequently he worked again for about twenty years as a freelancer, moving to the capital.

Once retired he became passionate about the game of bridge which became his main hobby and which saw him involved in many tournaments in his country, often achieving flattering results and becoming one of the best known players on the national circuit.

Ünal passed away in Ankara on 26 January 2023.
