Born in 1942 in Sophia he is a gynecologist and obstetrician who lives in Schwarzenbek a town 40 km east of Hamburg.
He learned to play bridge to 8 years in Bulgaria in order to allow at older boys to close a table and there he gained his first successes.
When he moved to Germany had decided to abandon the game, but one day he found himself passing in front of a Bridge Club in Hamburg, and could not resist the temptation to enter, and so became one of the most representative German players, who together with several national titles won: one gold, one silver and one bronze in Champion's Cup (2006, 2009, 2007), one Forbo International Teams (1998), a silver medal in 2013 European Senior Pairs and a bronze medal in the European Teams Championships (2008) and in the World Senior Pairs (2006).
That same year he also won a surprise with an all-German training the Senior Bowl, but the title was later revoked by the WBF because of a ten-year ban imposed on him and his companion Elinescu, found guilty of illegal reporting.
The Court of Dusseldorf to which the interested parties had appealed by a sentence of November 15, 2017 ruled that the same can not be individually punished by the WBF and that the German Federation should re-accept them as members.
