Safinaz Hanim Zulfikar, meglio conosciuta con il nome di Farida dell'Egitto nacque ad Alessandria d'Egitto il 5 settembre del 1921 e fu la prima moglie di Re Faruq I d'Egitto e Sudan.

 Sposò Re Faruq il 20 gennaio del 1938 presso il Kubbe Sarayi al Cairo.

 Dal matrimonio con il monarca egiziano ebbe tre figlie: Feryal, Fawzia, Fadia.

 Dopo la nascita della terza figlia, Faruq la ripudiò con l'accusa di non riuscire a procreare un erede maschio alla casa reale, e i due divorziarono il 19 novembre del 1948.

 Successivamente al divorzio, Farida visse la maggior parte della sua vita a Parigi dove imparò il Bridge che la interessò non poc.

 Nel 1974 decise di tornare in Egitto, allora governato da Anwar al-Sadat.

 Dama di Gran Croce dell'Ordine di Beneficenza, Dama di Gran Croce dell'Ordine di San Sava, morì di leucemia nella capitale egiziana il 16 ottobre del 1988.

  Safinaz Hanim Zulfikar, better known by the name of Farida of Egypt was born in Alexandria on September 5, 1921 and was the first wife of King Farouk of Egypt and Sudan.

She married King Faruq 20 January 1938 at the Kubbe Sarayi in Cairo.

His marriage to the Egyptian monarch had three daughters: Feryal, Fawzia, Fadia.

After the birth of her third daughter, Faruq repudiated her on charges of failing to procreate a male heir to the royal house, and the two were divorced 19 November 1948.

After the divorce, Farida lived most of his life in Paris where she learned the Bridge was interested her free time.

In 1974 she decided to return to Egypt, then ruled by Anwar Sadat.

Dame Grand Cross of the Order of Charity, Dame Grand Cross of the Order of St. Sava, died of leukemia in the Egyptian capital on October 16, 1988.
