Alexander Allfrey è nato il 14 giugno del 1965 a Londra dove ha vissuto fino a 10 anni per poi trasferirsi nel Wiltshire, la contea dove si trova Stonehenge.
Ha imparato il Whist in famiglia dalla mamma e dalla nonna, ma il suo primo contatto serio con il bridge risale al periodo universitario passato ad Edimburgo.
Sposato con Marta che gli ha dato 4 figli, oggi vive nel Dorset a Shaftesbury una cittadina circa 30 km a ovest di Salisbury dove gestisce un negozio e occasionalmente insegna bridge.
Alexander che è anche un psicoterapeuta a tempo parziale, è oggi un World International Master che ha colto il suo miglior successo internazionale con il bronzo conquistato nella Rosenblum del 2018.
Sul piano nazionale ha vinto diversi titoli tra cui 6 volte la Gold Cup, il Crockfords e il Spring Fours.

Married to Martha, who gave him four children, now lives at Shaftesbury, a small town about 30 miles west of Salisbury, where he runs a shop and occasionally teaches bridge.
Alexander, who is also a part-time psychotherapist, is a World International Master who took his best international success with the bronze in the 2018 Rosenblum.
At the national level he has won several times the Gold Cup, the Crockfords and the Spring Fours.
