Sverrir Gaukur Ármannsson è nato il 9 febbraio del 1952 a Kopavogur in un distretto urbano vicinissimo alla capitale.

Sverrir Gaukur Ármannsson was born on 9 February 1952 in
Kopavogur, an urban district very close to the capital.
He attended the University without completing his studies and is one of the best known Icelandic players.
World International Master, he has been part of the national team of his country several times, taking his best result with the 5th place at the 2000 Olympics.
