Anders Brunzell è nato a Göteborg nel 1938 ed è un insegnante di matematica e di fisica che è sposato con Blodil anche lei insegnante, ma di inglese e tedesco, e anche lei amante del bridge.
Anders , che ha iniziato a giocare a 22 anni, è stato uno dei maggiori giocatori svedesi ed ha vinto diversi titoli nazionali in ogni categoria oltre ad essere uno stimato collaboratore fisso della celebre rivista Bridgetidningen.
Sul piano internazionale ha difeso più volte i colori nazionali ed ha riportato le sue migliori affermazioni vincendo ha vinto la Coppa dei Campioni del 1982 a Sanremo e i Campionati Europei a Squadre del 1977 ad Elsinore. Nello stesso anno ha vinto il bronzo nella Bermuda Bowl.
Anders che ha giocato prevalentemente dapprima con Sture Ekberg, poi con Jorgen Lindqvist ed, infine, con Jim Nielsen, ha conquistato il titolo di World International Master.
