Nato nel 1945 a Stoccolma, World International Master, è stato uno dei più forti giocatori del nord Europa negli anni '70 ed '80.
Sposato con Ethel ha avuto due figli: Thomas e Lisa.
Jorgen, che è anche stato l'editore della nota rivista "Exspressen", ha vinto i Campionati Europei a Squadre nel 1977 anno nel quale ha anche guadagnato un bronzo nella Bermuda Bowl per poi conquistare anche una medaglia di bronzo agli Europei del 1989.
Dopo questi successi si è ritirato dal bridge agonistico di alto livello per dedicarsi completamente all'insegnamento diventando uno dei più amati tutori del suo Paese.
Tornato nell'agone come coach del team svedese, un perfido cancro lo ha portato via nel giugno del 2003.

Lindqvist (1945-2003) represented Sweden successfully in the 70’s and 80’s,
winning the European Team Championship in 1977 and earning a bronze medal in
1989 edition.
He represented Sweden during the 70s and early 80s partnering PO Sundelin, Anders Brunzell and Tjolpe Flodqvist.
He became European Champion and finished third in the Bermuda Bowl in 1977.
After his successful career as a player he turned his talents into teaching the game and was one of the most loved and appreciated tutors in Sweden.
Last year he returned to the international scene to successfully coach the Swedish team in Salsomaggiore into a berth in this year’s Bermuda Bowl. He had hoped to be able to play here in Menton but sadly this was not to be.
After his playing career, Lindqvist turned his attention to teaching the game and became one of the best-loved tutors in Sweden.
