Reginald  CORWEN

 Reginald Fox Corwen è nato nel 1902 ed è forse stato il più illustre rappresentante dell'amministrazione del bridge inglese.

 Abilissimo selezionatore, sapeva mettere sempre in campo le migliori formazioni in relazione all'avversario da affrontare e non è un caso che il titolo Europeo del 1954 e quello Mondiale dell'anno successivo (l'unico per la Gran Bretagna) fossero conquistati dalla squadra Open inglese con la sua regia.

 Mantenne la Presidenza della EBU dal momento del suo pensionamento avvenuto nel 1957 per 26 anni consecutivo e lasciò la carica solo quando la salute non gli permise di più di mantenerla efficacemente.

 Sposato con l'affascinante Rene che lo seguiva ovunque quasi sempre, scomparve nel 1984.

 Skilled grader, knew always put into play the best teams in relation to the opponent and it is no coincidence that the European title of 1954 and the Bermuda Bowl of the following year (the only one for the UK) were won by the Open English Team under his direction.

He held the Presidency of the EBU since his retirement in 1957 for 26 years in a row and left the office only when health did not allow him to keep it more effectively.

Married to the charming Rene who followed him everywhere almost always, disappeared in 1984.
