Bob Crosby è nato il 28 febbraio del 1947 a Portage la Prairie una città del Manitoba a sud dell'omonimo lago, ma si è stabilito ad Edmonton fin da quando aveva 11 anni.
Ha iniziato ha giocare a bridge durante gli anni dell'Università ad Alberta dove si è laureato in Scienza dei Computer ed è arrivato a rappresentare il suo Paese ai giochi olimpici del 1970.
Analista Software del Governo per oltre trenta anni, il lavoro e la famiglia lo allontanarono dal bridge agonistico fin quando, una volta pensionato, non tornò a dedicarsi appieno all'antico amore, profondendosi nell'insegnamento e in campo teorico.

He
has started playing bridge in years to Alberta University where he earned a
Bachelor in Computer Science and he has come to represent his country at the
Olympic Games of 1970. Software
analyst of the Government for over thirty years, the work and the family took
him away from the bridge competitive until, once retired, did not return to
devote fully to the ancient love, profuse in teaching and in the theoretical
field.

death due to a heart attack on January 27, 2012, prevented him from grasping the
laurels which set out to conquer in the racing field.
