Hema  DEORA

 

 Shrimati Hema Deora è nata nel 1951 a Mumbai ed è la vedova di Murli Deora (10 gennaio 1937- 24 novembre 2014) che è stato sindaco di Mumbai e membro del Parlamento indiano.

 I coniugi Deora hanno avuto due figli.

 Ottima giocatrice, Hema ha la straordinaria particolarità di non aver mai giocato a bridge prima dei 50 anni e di essere, nonostante questo, arrivata alla nazionale femminile indiana, di cui è stata più volte membro, riuscendo a conquistare un secondo posto ai Campionati BFAME del 2007 seguito da un terzo nel 2009.

 World Woman Master, doveva interrompere spesso l'attiva agonistica per seguire il marito nei suoi viaggio politici, ma, nonostante tutti questi ostacoli è divenuta anche un articolista rinomata che per più anni ha scritto una seguita colonna nel Mid-Day e Jet wings. 

  Shrimati Hema Deora was born in 1951 in Mumbai and is the widow of Murli Deora (January 10, 1937 - November 24, 2014), who served as Mayor of Mumbai and a member of the Indian Parliament.

The Deoras had two children.

An excellent player, Hema has the extraordinary distinction of never having played bridge before the age of 50 and, despite this, having made it to the Indian women's national team, of which she was a member several times, managing to achieve a second place at the 2007 BFAME Championships, followed by a third in 2009.

A World Woman Master, she often had to interrupt her competitive activity to follow her husband on his political trips, but, despite all these obstacles, she also became a renowned columnist, writing a popular column for several years in Mid-Day and Jet Wings.
