Alice Gordon Evers (1874 - 1950) was one of the first women to successfully practice the bridge in Great Britain.
She was chosen by Colonel Walter Buller to be his partnerpart in the team who in September 1930 picked up the challenge of American Ely Culbertson who turned into the famous Black Tuesday of the British bridge.
Alice, who was the companion of Hubert Phillips in several Britannic encounters in the Camrose, also participated in the well known challenge of Colonel Buller with Almack's Club in March 1934.
