Paolo è nato a Rapallo il 4 luglio del 1943 e, negli ultimi tempi, è salito alla ribalta per la sua partnership con il più famoso Arturo Franco.
È particolarmente noto ai bridgisti italiani per aver pubblicato il libro di grande successo "Dammi una mano in cucina" nel quale diversi personaggi del mondo del bridge propongono ricette abbinate a particolari mani.
Ha vinto la Coppa Italia del 1967 e nel 1972 ed è arrivato secondo negli Open a Squadre del 1971.
In campo internazionale ha preso un bronzo ai Campionati Juniores del MEC (1969) ed un argento in quelli a Squadre (1971).

He is especially known to the Italian bridge players for having published the book's highly successful "Give me a hand in the kitchen" in which various personalities from the world of bridge offering recipes combined with special hands.
He won the Italian Cup in 1967 and 1972 and came second in the Open Teams in 1971.
In the international field took a bronze medal at the Junior Championships of the MEC (1969) and a silver in those Team (1971).
