Figlia di madre greca e padre polacco, è nata a Chicago con il cognome Pudlowski poi cambiato dai genitori per motivi di affari, Chrystal Henner è la sorella della nota attrice cinematografica Marilu Henner.

 Sposata con il noto ristoratore e campione newyorkese Roy Welland, prima della separazione ha vissuto a New York con il marito ed i suoi due figli gemelli: William e Christopher.

 Laureata in psicologia alla Università di Chicago è una World Life Master che annovera tra le sue affermazioni in campo nazionale: il Mitchell del 2004, il Jacoby del 2003 e la Vanderbilt del 2007 in coppia con il marito.

 In campo internazionale, ricordiamo l'argento nella Rosenblum del 2006 quando per la prima volta si videro sedute due donne una di fronte all'altra in un Campionato Mondiale Open, l'altra era Rose Meltzer.

Sempre in campo internazionale Christal ha vinto gli Europei Open a Squadre Miste del 2003 in coppia con il marito in una portentosa squadra fatta di tre coppie di coniugi (le altre due erano i Levin e i Rosenberg).

Nel 2019 ha vinto l'argento nella Wuhan Cup.
