Richard  KAHN

Richard F. Kahn è nato il 9 gennaio del 1911 ed è stato uno dei protagonisti del bridge americano negli anni a cavallo della metà dello scorso secolo.

Sposato con Marjorie, impiegato presso la Columbia Picture dalla quale si pensionò nel 1977, ha vissuto a lungo a New York dove ha fondato con Leventritt la famosa Card School.

Ha anche fatto parte del board del Cavendish Club e della Greater New York Bridge Association.

Come giocatore ha vinto 6 NABC tra i quali ricordiamo la Spingold del 1955, la Vanderbilt del 1953 e la Reisinger del 1949. Ha anche vinto il Goldman Pairs del 1947.

Sul piano internazionale è arrivato secondo nella Bermuda Bowl del 1956.

É venuto meno il 1 maggio del 1987 a causa di problemi cardiaci legati alla sua lunga lotta contro il Parkinson mentre si trovava ricoverato al Lenox Hill di Manhattan.

Richard F. Kahn was born on January 9, 1911 and was one of the protagonists of the American bridge in the years around the middle of last century.

Married to Marjorie, he works for Columbia Pictures from which retired in 1977, has long lived in New York where he founded with Peter Leventritt the famous Card School.

He also served on the board of the Cavendish Club and the Greater New York Bridge Association.

As a player, he won 6 NABC among which we remember: Spingold 1955, Vanderbilt in 1953 and Reisinger 1949. He also won the 1947 Goldman Pairs.

At the international level it came in second in the 1956 Bermuda Bowl.

He failed on May 1, 1987 due to heart problems related to his long battle against Parkinson's disease when he was admitted to Lenox Hill Hospital of Manhattan.
