François Leenhardt è nato il primo giorno del 1940 ed è stato un banchiere nonché uno dei migliori giocatori francesi. Vedovo dal 2008 di Maryse (foto a dx) anche lei ottima bridgista, ha vissuto l'ultima parte della sua vita e a Neuilly sur Seine nell'hinterland parigino ed è stato anche un appassionato di viaggi e di raccolta di funghi.

Dopo aver vinto un Campionato d'Europa a Squadre nel 1974 e nel 1975 aver conquistato un Campionato del MEC a Squadre Miste e un bronzo nella Bermuda Bowl, François si è dedicato alla carriera per poi tornare a raccogliere allori dopo un quarto di secolo nella categoria Seniores.
World International Master e Senior Life Master, nella Categoria seniores ha raccolto un argento Olimpico nel 2000, due ori (2002 e 2012) e tre bronzi (2001, 2004 e 2012) nei Campionati Europei a Squadre, due ori nei Transnazionali Europei a Squadre (2003 e 2011), un argento (2011) ed un bronzo (2003) nei Campionati Europei a Coppie, un bronzo (2001), un argento (2003) ed un oro (2011) nella D'Orsi Cup.
François è scomparso il 22 marzo 2021.
François Leenhardt was born on
the first day of 1940 and was a banker as well as
one of the best French players. Maryse's widower
since 2008 (photo right) also an excellent bridge
player, he lived the last part of her life in
Neuilly sur Seine in the Parisian hinterland and was
also a lover of travel and mushroom picking.
After winning a European Team Championship in 1974, and a gold medal in the MEC Mixed Teams Championship and a bronze medal in the Bermuda Bowl the following year, François has dedicated himself to career before returning to collect several laurels after a quarter century in the Seniors category.
World International Master and Senior Life Master, in the senior class has collected an Olympic silver in 2000, two gold (2002 and 2012) and three bronzes (2001, 2004 and 2012) in the European Teams Championships, two gold medals in the Transnational European Teams (2003 and 2011), one silver (2011) and one bronze (2003) in the European Pairs Championships, one bronze (2001), one silver (2003) and a gold (2011) in D'Orsi Cup.
François passed away on March 22, 2021.
