Jo Morse è nata il 22 dicembre del 1932 a Boston ma è cresciuta a Silver Spring nel Maryland frequentando la McKinley Technological High School e l'Università del Maryland.
Jo che ha avuto una figlia, Tracey, oggi vive a Palm Beach.
Tra le migliori giocatrici dell'ultimo quarto del secolo scorso, ha vinto una decina di NABC tra i quali ricordiamo il Whitehead del 1983 e lo Sternberg del 1990.
Nel 1993 e nel 2000 ha guidato la Nazionale Femminile USA sul podio della Venice Cup (oro e argento).
Come giocatrice nel 1994 ha conquistato il bronzo nella McConnell Cup, nel 1974 ha vinto il Transnational Mixed Teams e nel 2010 ha guadagnato l'ultima medaglia vincendo il bronzo nel Transactional Mixed Swiss Teams.
