Ivan Nanev è nato il 31 maggio del 1972 a Zavet, un paese della Bulgaria del nord est non lontana dal confine romeno.
Ivan ha studiato matematica presso l'Accademia Obreshkov di Razgrad e si è laureato presso l'Università Tecnica di Sofia: Dopo aver vissuto a Varna sul Mar Nero. si è trasferito nella capitale.
Bronzo nel Transnazionale Mondiale del 2000, nel Campionato Europeo a Squadre del 2002, nelle Champion Cup del 2008 e 2011, si è migliorato con l'argento del 2013.
World International Master, tra diversi altri Campionati Nazionali e Tornei Internazionali ha anche vinto il Cavendish Pairs del 2013 ed ha conquistato l'argento nel Transazionale Mondiale a Squadre del 2015.
Nel 2016 ha guadagnato il bronzo alle Olimpiadi a Squadre Miste e l'anno successivo lo stesso metallo nella Bermuda Bowl e negli Elite Mind Games.
Ivan Nanev was born on 1972, 31 May in Zavet,
a little city in north-eastern Bulgaria not far from the Romanian border.
Ivan studied mathematics at the Academy Obreshkov of Razgrad and he is a graduate of the Technical University of Sofia. After living in Varna on the Black Sea has been transferred to the capital.
Bronze in the World Transnational Teams of 2000, in the European Teams Championships of 2002, in the Champion Cup of 2008 and 2011, has improved with the silver medal in 2013.
World International Master, among several other national championships and international tournaments he won also the Cavendish Pairs of 2013 and earned the silver medal in the 2015 World Transnational Open Teams and the bronze medal in the 2016 Mixed Teams at the Olympiad and the following year he earned same metal in the Bermuda Bowl and in the Elite Mind Games.
