Harold A. Ogust nacque in Russia il 19 novembre del 1916 ma fu portato negli Stati Uniti dai suoi genitori subito dopo la Rivoluzione d'Ottobre.
Dopo essersi misurato con un azienda che produceva oggetti di plastica, fondò un agenzia di viaggi che che, più tardi, costituì l'asse portante della famosa Goren International Inc. di cui fu fondatore e Presidente.
Scomparso nell'aprile del 1978 a causa di un terribile male che se le portò via in due anni è stato un giocatore di notevole talento è l'autore di alcune interessanti convenzioni ancor oggi usate in molte parti del mondo, la più famosa delle quali, porta il suo nome.
Ha vinto diversi tornei nazionali tra cui ricordiamo: due volte la Reisinger nel 1957 e nel 1963 e due volte la Spingold nel 1956 e nel 1960.
Il suo maggior risultato lo ha colto conquistando la Medaglia d'argento nella Bermuda Bowl del 1957 dietro l'astro nascente dello squadrone italiano.
Sposato con due figlie, pochi mesi prima di morire rifiutò un'offerta milionaria di Ira Corn per la sua azienda che lasciò alle cure della moglie Jean che già da anni collaborava con lui.
Harold A. Ogust was born in Russia in 1916 but was brought to
the U.S. by his parents shortly after the October Revolution.
After measured himself with a company that produced plastic objects, he founded a travel agency which later formed the backbone of the famous Goren International Inc. of which he was founder and President.
Disappeared in 1978 because of a terrible evil that carried them away in two years has been a player of great talent is the author of some interesting conventions still used in many parts of the world, the most famous of which bears his name.
He has won several national tournaments including note: Reisinger twice in 1957 and 1963 and twice Spingold in 1956 and 1960.
His major achievement took him by winning the silver medal in the Bermuda Bowl in 1957 behind the rising star of the Italian squad.
Married with two daughters, a few months before dying refused a millionaire offer of Ira Corn and left his society to the care of his wife Jean, who collaborated with him for many years.
