Vanessa Réess was born on February 19, 1973 in Pau where she graduated from the Louis Barthou Lyceum and then graduated in Physics at the local University.
Vanessa learned to play bridge from her parents and from both of her grandmothers so it can be said, with good reason, that the gene was passed on to her.
Married to Wilfried Libbrecht to whom she gave her son Arthur, who is also a bridge fan, today she lives with the champion Jérôme Rombaut in a town near Lille.
Vanessa who does not mind competing with men is a World Open Master and a World Women Grand Master who won the Venice Cups in 2005 and 2015 and won silver in the 2001 Transnational Open Teams.
She previously made a name for herself at the university level by taking bronze in the EUSA Teams Championships in 1999.
Last successes the silver in the European Mixed Team Championships in 2009 and in the Women's Teams of 2012 and 2016.
Also in 2012 the gold in the Women's Teams arrives at the World Mind Games, the bronze in the European Women's Team Championships in 2014, silver in 2016 in the Women's Olympics and the victory of the 2017 Elite Mind Games in the team accompanied by bronze in the Open Pairs and by the gold in 2021 Patton Biarritz and in 2022 Wuhan Cup.
She also led the Girl squad to bronze at the 2018 World Team Championships.
