Nato il 1 aprile del 1932 a Hyères, una città del Sud della Francia sita una ventina di km ad Est di Tolone, ha imparato a giocare a bridge a 17 anni sotto la guida di un suo prozio ed è stato uno dei migliori giocatori francesi degli anni '70.
Medico in pensione, divorziato con tre figli, vive a Parigi dove passa il suo tempo giocando a bridge e golf.
Jean Louis è un World Life Master che ha colto il suo maggior successo con l'argento conquistato nella Bermuda Bowl del 1971 a Taipei, ha poi guidato da capitano non giocatore il team transalpino che ha vinto l'edizione della competizione nel 1997.
Sette volte Campione di Francia, sempre da capitano non giocatore ha guidato anche il team francese che ha vinto le Olimpiadi di Rodi nel 1996.
In campo continentale ha vinto l'Europeo a Squadre del 1970 e tre Campionati del MEC consecutivi (1969, 1971 e 1973), oltre l'argento nell'Europeo Misto a Squadre del 1973.
A testimonianza della sua longevità agonistica ha collezionato tre piazzamenti (argento 1999, bronzo 2001 e 2006) nel Campionato Seniores Europeo a Squadre ed ha conquistato nel 2007 l'argento in quello Transnazionale.
Born in 1932 in Hyeres, a city in southern France about twenty miles east of Toulon, he learned to play bridge at age 17 under the guidance of his uncle and was one of the best French players of the '70s.
Retired doctor, divorced with three children, lives in Paris where he still played bridge.
Jean Louis is a World Life Master who has taken his biggest hit with the silver won in the 1971 Bermuda Bowl in Taipei, then led by non-playing captain the team which won the Alps edition of the competition in 1997.
Seven times Champion of France, also from non-playing captain also led the French team that won the Olympic Games in Rhodes in 1996.
In the field of continental European team won the 1970 MEC, and three consecutive championships (1969, 1971 and 1973), as well as silver in the European Mixed Teams in 1973.
A testament to its longevity racing has collected three placing (silver 1999, bronze 2001 and 2006) in the European Seniors Team Championship and won silver in 2007 in the Transnational.
