George Gordon Joseph Walshe nacque nel 1873 nella Contea di Armagh nel sud dell'Irlanda del Nord e moŕ nel 1959. Il Colonnello Walshe è rimasto famoso nel mondo del bridge anglosassone per aver ideato il CAB (acronimo di Two Clubs Ace-asking Blackwood) un metodo di risposta all'apertura forzante di 2♣ che per gli anni '50 in cui fu lanciato era innovativo e piuttosto utile.
La convenzione entṛ a far parte del CAB System di Leslie Williams Dodds, allo sviluppo del quale Walshe collaboṛ attivamente.
A suo tempo ebbe grande notorietà l'aver pubblicato un libro che trapiantava nel mondo britannico il nuovissimo metodo di conteggio delle perdenti ideato al di là dell'Oceano da Dudley Courtenay.

Northern Ireland and died in 1959.
He was famous in the world of Anglo-Saxon bridge for having created the CAB (acronym of Two Clubs Ace-asking Blackwood) a method of response to forcing Opening 2♣ that, for the '50s when it was launched, was innovative and quite useful.
The Convention became part of the CAB System Leslie Williams Dodds, the development of which Walshe collaborated actively.
