Maria Yakovleva è nata il 3 settembre del 1984 a Mosca dove tutt'ora vive.

 Ha studiato presso l'università statale della capitale moscovita ed è approdata nella nazionale femminile russa nel 2016 conquistando un quarto posto ai campionati europei.

 Per l'insieme dei risultati conseguiti, nel 2017 ha guadagnato il titolo di World Women Master.
