Sven Åke è nato nel 1948 a Hallstahammar una cittadina circa 130 Km ad ovest di Stoccolma ed è uno dei migliori giocatori svedesi della sua generazione.
Ha studiato presso il Ginnasio della sua città ed ha lavorato presso la Coop di Stoccolma come specialista informatico e, quando si è pensionato, si è trasferito a Strand in Sud Africa dove ha raggiunto il suo amico e partner Morath.
Vincitore di diversi titoli nazionali, in campo internazionale ha vinto il Nordic Teams ed è arrivato secondo agli Europei a Squadre del 1991, terzo nella Bermuda Bowl dello stesso anno, secondo nel Campionato Europeo Seniores del 2014 e del 2016 e nella Senior Bowl del 2015 e terzo in quella del 2017.
Sven Ake è molto noto nel mondo del bridge internazionale per essere coautore con Anders Morath e Sven Olof Flodqvist del noto sistema dichiarativo Carrot Club (Morotsklovern) ideato nel 1972 e a lungo giocato dai nazionali svedesi.

Winner of several Swedish titles, won in the international Nordic teams and finished second at the European Open Teams in 1991, third in the Bermuda Bowl that year, twice second in the European Senior Teams Championships 2015/2016, in Senior Bowl he has been second in 2015 and third in 2017.
Sven Åke is well known in the world of the international bridge to be co-authored with Anders Morath and Sven Olof Flodqvist of the famous Carrot Club bidding system (Morotsklovern) created in 1972 and played along by the Swedish nationals.
