Georges Catzeflis è nato ad Alessandria d'Egitto nel 1931 ed è divenuto cittadino svizzero trenta anni più tardi.

Ingegnere, vive a Losanna ed è stato uno dei personaggi carismatici del bridge elvetico della seconda metà del secolo scorso.
Conobbe il bridge osservando i suoi parenti giocare quando aveva 15 anni ma iniziò a giocare regolarmente quando era studente di liceo a Parigi.
Una volta laureatosi fu assunto dalla Brown Boveri e si trasferì a Baden nella Svizzera centrale dove il bridge non era praticato e gli mancava così tanto che tutti i week end affrontava i 200 Km che lo separavano da Losanna per andare a giocare. Durante uno di questi viaggi conobbe sua moglie, Geneviève, che nel 1981 fece parte della nazionale femminile svizzera e che scomparve nel 2013.
World Life Master, oltre a diverse titoli nazionali, Georges fece più volte parte della nazionale elvetica e fu vice campione del Mondo a Coppie Miste nel 1970.
Il figlio Christian è un eccellente giocatore che ha fatto più di un'apparizione nella nazionale elvetica.
Christian vive a Vich, non lontano da Losanna, con la moglie Anick e con i loro tre figli.

Georges
Catzeflis was born in Alexandria of Egypt in 1931 and became a Swiss citizen until
thirty years later.
Engineer, lives in Lausanne and has been one of the charismatic characters of
the Swiss bridge to the second half of the last century.
He knew the bridge watching his relatives play when he was 15 years old but he
began to play regularly when he was a high school student in Paris.
Once he graduated he was hired by Brown Boveri and moved to Baden in central Switzerland where the bridge was not practiced and he missed it so much that every weekend he addressed the 200 miles that separated him from Lausanne to go play. During one of these trips he met his wife, Genevieve, who in 1981 was part of the Swiss national women and that disappeared in 2013.
World Life Master, as well as several national titles, Georges made several times and was part of the Swiss National and was Vice World Mixed Pairs Champion in 1970.
His son Christian is an excellent player who has made more than one appearance in the Swiss national team.
Christian lives in Vich, not far from Lausanne, with his wife Anick and their three children.
