Nata nel 1946 in Polonia, Elisabeth Delor ha conosciuto il bridge in giovanissima età a causa di un incidente d'auto che la costretta ad una lunga degenza e alla conseguente osservazione dei suoi parenti che giocavano.

Elisabeth ha completato i suoi studi liceali in Polonia dove ha anche frequentato il conservatorio per studiare pianoforte e canto e dove divenne campionessa juniores di tiro con la pistola e con la carabina.
In Polonia ha anche approfondito la conoscenza del bridge sotto la guida del suo insegnante di matematica: Zbig Szurig, che era anche un campione polacco che fece parte a più riprese della nazionale.
Dopo gli studi visse 18 mesi a Vienna e poi si trasferì in Israele dove prese la locale cittadinanza ed impostò la sua attività professionale extra bridge.
Conobbe il marito Michel Delor durante un torneo di bridge a Juan les Pins, non ebbe figli e dopo qualche tempo si separò.
La sua attività bridgistica seria inizia con il ritorno in patria dopo il matrimonio e la porta rapidamente ala conquista dell'argento nel Campionato Europeo a Squadre Femminili del 1974, del bronzo Olimpico nel 1992 che segue a quello conquistato nel Mondiale a Coppie del 1978, dell'argento nell'Europeo a Squadre nel 1993, alla vittoria del Campionato Mondiale Individuale nel 1996.
World Life Master, sul piano nazionale ha vinto una ventina di titoli e su quello continentale ha anche vinto tre medaglie nei Campionati del MEC a Coppie (due argenti nel 1977 e 1985 ed un oro nel 1987) nonché l'oro in quello a Squadre del 1983.
Elisabeth che formò una coppia di grande rendimento e lunga durata con Colette Lise scomparve prematuramente il primo aprile del 2011 dopo una lunga e dolorosa malattia.

Elisabeth who had formed a pair of great performance and long life with Colette Lise is dead prematurely in 2011 after a long disease.

un titre de championne de tir !
Pourtant, c'est au bridge qu'Elisabeth Delor devait pleinement se réaliser. Cette activité lui a procuré l'occasion de monter sur de nombreux podiums. Nationaux et, mieux, internationaux.
Ainsi, à Salsomaggiore en 1992, elle gagnait la médaille de bronze aux Olympiades avec l'équipe de France féminine. Un an plus tard à Menton, vice-championne d'Europe Dames par quatre, elle était très heureuse. Sa médaille d'argent autour du cou, elle se tenait au pied du podium pour applaudir les Polonais champions en open.
Elle clôturait sa quête aux championnats du monde individuel en 1996 où elle remportait le Masters Generali féminin. Claude Blouquit et Colette Lise furent ses partenaires historiques. Ensemble, elles ont gagné une douzaine de titres en 1ère division nationale Dames.
Plus récemment, Joanna Nève, d'origine polonaise également, s'installa en face d'elle. L'équipe qu'elles formèrent toutes les quatre, avec Martine Rossard pour cinquième, domina la DN Dames ces dernières années.
Un délicieux accent slave, une joie de vivre communicative, une femme de tête qui jouait un bridge agressif, mais toujours avec énormément de plaisir, extrêmement fidèle en amitié, telle était la regrettée Elisabeth Delor.
Elisabeth succombé a une longue et douloureuse maladie le 1 avril 2011.
