Nancy Lois Gordon Gruver è nata il 12 agosto del 1931, si è laureata all'università del Maryland ed è stata sposata per 37 anni con John A. Gruver (1929 - 2008 foto a dx) da cui ha avuto due figli: John e Cynthia.

 Fortissima giocatrice, è arrivata seconda nella Venice Cup del 1981 e nelle Olimpiadi a Coppie Femminili del 1966 e terza nelle Olimpiadi a Squadre Femminili del 1968.

 In campo nazionale ha vinto 14  NABC tra i quali ricordiamo i due Whitehead nel 1965 e 1986.

 Nancy è stata anche un cardine del bridge amministrativo americano facendo parte della National Law Commission e ricoprendo la carica di Vicepresidente del National Appeals Committee.

 Nancy, che viveva ad Ellicott City,  è scomparsa prematuramente il 28 gennaio del 1990 a causa di un attacco di cuore.

Very strong player, he came second in the 1981 Venice Cup and in the 1966 Women's Couples Olympics and third in the 1968 Women's Women's Olympics.

In the national field he won 14 NABCs including the two Whiteheads in 1965 and 1986.

Nancy was also a hub of the US Administration Bridge, part of the National Law Commission, and serving as Vice President of the National Appeals Committee.

Nancy, who lived in Ellicott City, died early on January 28, 1990 because of a heart attack.
