José  LE  DENTU

José Le Dentu nacque nel 1917 a Tananarive nel Madagascar, allora colonia francese, ma vi restò per soli tre anni, perché il padre era un medico delle truppe coloniali e si spostava continuamente in giro per il mondo facendo soli brevi soggiorni a Parigi.

Il liceo lo iniziò a Parigi, lo proseguì ad Hanoi e lo finì ancora a Parigi. Nipote dell'uomo politico e letterato John Perce, fu da questo convinto a lasciare gli studi di lettere per laurearsi in Scienze Politiche, ma dopo laurea l'incombenza del conflitto mondiale allontanò la possibilità di una carriera diplomatica e José riprese i vecchi studi e si laureò anche il Lettere.

Partecipò brevemente alla guerra con una puntata in Africa e dopo la smobilitazione, non trovando lavoro, per occupare il tempo si Laureò anche in Diritto pensando di fare l'Avvocato.

 Il Bridge lo aveva conosciuto quando aveva 10 anni, perché mentre erano imbarcati su un battello per l'Indocina, mancava il quarto e il padre lo costrinse a imparare velocemente le regole per riempire il tavolo!

 Dal 1924 al 1927 visse alla Guadalupa dove una zia completò la sua istruzione bridgistica.

 Josè si avvio alla professione di avvocato ma nel dopo guerra era assai difficile trovare lavoro, così José si trasferì a Cannes dove un suo amico gli suggerì di dare lezioni private e giocare al Circolo locale dove le poste erano alte ma i ricchi attori assai scarsi.

 Intanto si era sposato e si rese conto che era possibile sbarcare il lunario con il Bridge. Mentre faceva un torneo con Trezel, gli capito di giocare una smazzata talmente bene al tavolo di Albarran che questi gli chiese all'istante di divenire suo collaboratore.

 Nacque così uno dei personaggi più rappresentativi del bridge europeo, capace di formare dei sodalizi di grande rinomanza sia con Pierre Albarran che con Roger Trézel.

 José fu 5 volte consecutive Campione Nazionale prima di vincere il bronzo alla Bermuda Bowl del 1961.

Tuttavia questa sua ultima apparizione fu solo in sostituzione del collega Jais, perché Josè abbandonò il bridge agonistico appena quarantenne per dedicarsi completamente all'attività di giornalista nella quale seppe riportare un grandissimo successo.

Il suo primo matrimonio durò solo 8 anni, ma più tardi sposò Denise che era una sua cognata, anche lei divorziata, che gli ha dato tre figli e che seppe anche trovare il tempo di fargli da segretaria. I due si integrarono alla perfezione sia nella vita che nel Bridge che Denise imparò apposta per poter aiutare il marito nel suo lavoro di scrittore e giornalista.

Dotato di una penna arguta e brillante riuscì a vendere un gran numero di copie dei suoi diversi libri che vennero tradotti in più lingue.

José è sempre stato amante delle moto che a sua detta, lo distoglievano dalla pesantezza del suo lavoro.

Commentatore e conduttore di trasmissioni televisive di successo, José si è spento nel 1997 dopo essere anche stato il capitano della nazionale femminile del suo Paese.

However, his last appearance was only in place of fellow Jais, because Jose left the bridge just racing forty to devote himself completely to a journalist who knew how to bring in a huge success.

His first marriage lasted only 8 years, but later married Denise who was his sister in law, also her divorcee. With Denise had three children and she also knew how to find the time to be his secretary.

The two complement each other perfectly both in life and in the Bridge that Denise learned to help her husband in his work as a writer and journalist.

Jose has always been a lover of motorcycles, which in the said, distracted by the heaviness of his work.

Commentator and host of television success, Jose has died in 1997 after he was also the captain of the women team of his country.
