William Pollack è nato nel 1951 a Teaneck una cittadina del New Jersey, ha studiato presso la locale high school e si è laureato alla Columbia University.
A coronamento di una lunga carriera che la ha visto impegnato in diverse Società, è diventato vice presidente della Niksun una società tecnologica che ha sede a Princeton nel New Jersey.
World International Master, sposato con Roxanne, anche lei nota campionessa americana, giocando in coppia hanno vinto l'argento ai Transnational Mixed Teams del 1996 ed il bronzo ai Mondiali a Coppie Miste del 1986.
In campo internazionale ha conquistato il bronzo nella Rosenblum Cup del 1998, in campo nazionale ha vinto diversi titoli.
È stato Presidente della USBF per due anni dal 2009.

A culmination of a long career that has seen him involved in various companies, he became Vice President of Niksun a technology company based in Princeton, NJ.
World International Master, married to Rozanne, other known American champion, playing in pairs have won the silver medal at the Transnational Mixed Teams in 1996 and bronze at World Mixed Pairs in 1986.
On the international he has won the bronze medal in Rosenblum Cup of 19998, on the domestic has won some NABC of which is leading the Vanderbilt Cup in 1990.
He was President of the USBF for two years from 2009.
