Gail Harte Greenberg è nata a New York nel 1938 ed è un'insegnante e una giocatrice professionista tra le più note del bridge statunitense.

 Suo padre, Stanley J. Harte (1910-1993) avvocato, è stato un noto costruttore.

 World Grand Master e ACBL Grand Life Master, ha ricoperto tra i suoi numerosi incarichi, anche quelli di Vice Presidente del National Appeals Committee, membro del National Goodwill Committee e del National Charity Committee, Presidente della Greater New York Bridge Association.

 Fondatrice del più grande circolo di bridge del Nord America: l'Honors Bridge Club in Park Avenue nel cuore di New York, Gail  fa parte di quella che è forse la più numerosa ed importante famiglia di bridgisti americani.  Sposata in prime nozze con il campione nazionale Jack Greenberg e in seconde nozze con il campione nazionale Steve Shane con cui ha dato alla luce la campionessa del mondo Jillian Levin, ha sposato in terze nozze il campione nazionale Mike Moss, con cui ha dato alla luce Brad e Andrew, che sono stati entrambi ACBL King of Bridge (rispettivamente nel 1989 e nel 1991).

Gail schierando tutti i suoi familiare potrebbe formare due o tre dei Family Team più forti del mondo.

 Dal canto suo, Gail ha vinto le Venice Cup del 1976 e del 1978 arrivando all'argento nel 1985, le Olimpiadi del 1980 del 1984 e del 1996 arrivando all'argento in quelle a Squadre Miste del 1972 oltre ad aver anche vinto una ventina di  titoli nazionali.

 Fece grande scalpore la presa di posizione politica dell'intera Squadra femminile USA vincitrice della Venice Cup di Shanghai con Gail capitano non giocatore, quando nell'ottobre del 2007, durante la cerimonia di premiazione, alzò un cartello con su scritto: "We did not vote for Bush".

 La Greenberg ha anche scritto 4 libri di bridge di discreto successo sul piano nazionale ha conquistato 16 NABC tra i quali ricordiamo i Whitehead del 1977 e del 2005.

 Nel 2013 è stata eletta nella Hall of Fame del bridge americano.

 La sorella Alison Harte ha fondato nel 2000 l'Harte's Club uno dei migliori club di White Plains.

Married in first marriage with the national champion Jack Greenberg and in second wedlock with the national champion Steve Shane with whom she gave birth to the world champion Jillian Levin, she married in third wedding the national champion Mike Moss, with whom she gave birth Brad and Andrew, both ACBL King of Bridge (1989 and 1991 respectively).

Gail deploying all his family members could form two or three of the strongest Family Teams in the world.

For her part, Gail won the Venice Cups of 1976 and 1978, reaching silver in 1985, the 1980 Olympics of 1984 and 1996, reaching silver in the Mixed Teams of 1972, as well as having won a score of national titles.

The political stance of the entire US Women's Team winning the Venice Cup in Shanghai with Gail non-player captain caused a stir, when in October 2007, during the award ceremony, he raised a sign that read: "We did not vote for Bush ".

Greenberg has also written 4 fairly successful bridge books and on the national level has won 16 NABC among which we recall the Whiteheads of 1977 and 2005.

In 2013 she was elected in the Hall of Fame of the American bridge.
