Gaylor Lee Kasle was born on March 2, 1941 in Flint, Michigan into a family of bridge players, his father Sidney Kasle was a Life Master of the ACBL, his mother Lee Kasle won the North American women's championship in 1959 and his brother Dennis Kasle won the Lebhar 2015.
A graduate of Short Ridge High School in Indianapolis, he got to know bridge during his military service.
Gaylor, who lived in Boca Raton in Florida, anticipated bridging professionalism by dedicating himself entirely to this activity already in the 60s and becoming a World Life Master and a Senior World Life Master.
Married twice, first with Sharon and second with Barbara, between his children and the previous ones of the two wives, he took care of 12 children overall!
His greatest successes are represented by the victory of the Rosenblum Cup in Albuquerque in 1994, the Vanderbilt Cup in 1994, the Mitchell in 1973, the Wernher in 1993, the Jacoby in 2012, as well as the prestigious Sunday Times Pairs in tandem with Bobby Levin in 1993 and John Roberts Team's in 2007.
Internationally he has collected a gold, a silver and a bronze in the Senior Bowl and another silver in the Rand Cup, while, domestically, he has won a total of 12 NABC.
Gaylor passed away on October 3, 2022 in Phoenix Arizona and is awarded with Von Zedtwitz in 2023.
His second wife Barbara Day Whitesel was also a talented player who was able to conquer the title of Gold Life Master of the ACBL.
