John Kranyak è nato il 5 novembre del 1983 a Bay Village un paesino che si trova nella Hunting Valley nell'hinterland di Cleveland in Ohio e si è diplomato presso la locale Università dove ha anche giocato al calcio, sport che ancora ama molto.
Poi ha studiato matematica alla Columbia University di New York e, da quando ha conosciuto il Bridge all'età di 12 anni sotto la guida dei suoi genitori, Ken e Laurie , si è grandemente appassionato al gioco.

La mamma Laurie Zimmerman, scomparsa il 19 ottobre del 2011 a causa di un male inguaribile era un ACBL Grand Life Master che ha vinto in coppia con il figlio il Rockwell Mixed Pairs ai NABC del 2005.
Per giocare a bridge ha rinunciato al calcio e negli anni della sua gioventù è stato ricompensato con la medaglia di bronzo nei Campionati Universitari a Squadre del 2004, nelle Olimpiadi Invernali del 2002 e nei Mondiali Juniores a Squadre del 2003, una competizione che aveva già vinto nel 2001. Ha anche conquistato l'argento nell'HERO International Bridge Festival del 2000 ed è arrivato terzo nel Blue Ribbon Pairs del 2001 giocando in coppia con il padre Ken. Infine, è stato nominato "King of Bridge" per il 2002: un titolo questo, che premia il miglior juniores americano dell'anno.
Oggi è un World Life Master che tra le sue vittorie conta anche il Campionato Juniores a Squadre Australiano del 2005 ed il Roth del 2014.
John, che oggi vive a Las Vegas, ha già conquistato numerosi trofei e ben tre Campionati del Mondo! anche nel Poker sportivo.
John confida a Infobridge che le qualità indispensabili per primeggiare a Bridge e a Poker sono abbastanza simili e che mentre il Poker presenta il vantaggio di poter fruttare molti più soldi, il Bridge presenta quello che non si finisce mai di imparare.
John che ama il golf, il tennis ed il wakeboard, ha nelle sue future aspirazioni quella di farsi una famiglia e di vincere una Bermuda Bowl e nel 2015 ci è andato vicino conquistando il bronzo.
Nel 2018 arriva un'altro bronzo nella Rosenblum.

local university where he also played football, a sport he still loves very
much.
He then studied mathematics at Columbia University in New York and, since he discovered Bridge at the age of 12 under the guidance of his parents, Ken and Laurie, he became greatly passionate about the game.
His mother Laurie Zimmerman, who passed away on October 19, 2011 due to an incurable disease, was an ACBL Grand Life Master who won the Rockwell Mixed Pairs at the 2005 NABC together with her son.
He gave up football to play bridge and in his younger years was rewarded with bronze medals in the 2004 University Team Championships, the 2002 Winter Olympics and the 2003 World Junior Team Championships, a competition he had already won in 2001. He also took silver in the 2000 HERO International Bridge Festival and finished third in the 2001 Blue Ribbon Pairs playing as a pair with his father Ken.
Finally, he was named "King of Bridge" for 2002: a title that rewards the best American junior of the year.
Today he is a World Life Master whose victories also include the 2005 Australian Junior Team Championship and the 2014 Roth.
John, who now lives in Las Vegas, has already won numerous trophies and three World Championships! also in sports poker.
John confides to Infobridge that the qualities necessary to excel at Bridge and Poker are quite similar and that while Poker has the advantage of being able to earn much more money, Bridge presents what you never stop learning.
John, who loves golf, tennis and wakeboarding, has future aspirations of starting a family and winning a Bermuda Bowl and in 2015 he came close by winning bronze.
Another bronze comes in 2018 in Rosenblum.
