Jose Manuel Robles Vazquez è nato il 19 maggio del 1949 a Punta Arenas ed è un ingegnere civile che vive a Santiago e che ha speso la sua intera vita professionale in campo accademico.
Oggi è il Preside della Facoltà di Ingegneria più prestigiosa del Paese in un'Università privata.
Come bridgista è un World Master che ha vinto innumerevoli volte la Coppa d'Oro (il maggior campionato cileno) ed ha fatto più volte parte della nazionale del suo Paese partecipando alle Bermuda Bowl del 1997 e del 2009.
Suo figlio Benjamin è un World Master che fa parte della nazionale cilena e sua figlia Catalina è anche lei una buona giocatrice sposata con il campione Kevin Bathurst che è un nazionale USA.
Jose Manuel Robles was born 19 May 1949 and he is a civil
engineer that has dedicated most of his professional life to the academic area.
Today he works as the dean of the School of Engineering at one of the most prestigious private universities in Chile.
Together with his long time partner Marcelo, Jose has represented Chile in the 1997 and 2009 Bermuda Bowl, as well as in about forthy South American Championships, and won the Copa de Oro over 35 times (the premier Chilean team tournament).
He is the father of Benjamin and Catalina.
Benjamin is a World Master and is another member of the Chilean team.
Catalina, married the champion Kevin Bathurst, have two children. She is also a good bridge player.
