Christopher Jon Willenken è nato il 30 ottobre 1975 a New York City dove ha passato gran parte della sua vita.

Si è laureato al Williams College nel 1997 ed ha lavorato come stock and option trader prima di dedicarsi quasi completamente al bridge professionistico.
Nella categoria Juniores ha vinto l'argento nel Campionato Mondiale a Squadre del 1999.
ACBL Grand Life Master e World Life Master, nel 2010 ha conquistato il bronzo nella Rosenblum Cup, nel 2011 ha vinto il titolo individuale ai Campionati Mondiali degli Sport della Mente e la medaglia d'argento in quelli a Squadre.
Sul piano nazionale ha guadagnato diversi piazzamenti di prestigio ed ha vinto alcuni NABC tra cui ricordiamo il Jacoby nel 2004, il Wernher nel 2001 e la Vanderbilt del 2022.
Ha anche vinto 4 volte il Goldman Pairs e nel 2015 il bronzo nel Campionato Europeo a Coppie. Nel 2017 ha guadagnato l'argento nello Squadre Miste agli Europei Open e lo stesso metallo nei World Mixed Teams del 2018 e nella Wuhan Cup del 2022 che poi vincerà nel 2023.
Chris, che è sposato con la campionessa Dana Berkowitz, è stato anche il titolare del Master Solvers' Club di The Bridge World e un membro dell'ACBL's National Appeals Committee.
Chris Willenken was born in
1985 in New York City, where he has lived for most of his life.
He graduated Williams College in 1997 and subsequently worked as
a stock and options trader before settling in his current
prevalent occupation as a bridge professional.
An ACBL Grand Life Master with five North American Championships and one World Mind Games individual title to his credit, Chris plays most regularly with Michael Rosenberg. Since their partnership formed in 2010, Chris and Michael have achieved the following results: 2nd place World Mind Games 2011, 2nd place Jacoby Open Swiss 2011, 3rd place Jacoby Open Swiss 2012, 3rd place Reisinger 2010, 4th place Reisinger 2011, 4th place Reisinger 2012, Semifinals Rosenblum Cup 2010, Semifinals Transnational Teams 2011.
In 2015 he won the bronze medal in the European Open Pairs Championships.
Chris also won Goldman Pairs (2000, 2001, 2013, 2014) and Vanderbilt Cup 2022 and today is a World Life Master.
In 2017 he earned the silver medal in the Mixed Teams at European Open and the followed year same metal in the World Mixed Teams and in Wuhan Cup 2022 that then he win in 2023.
Chris is also an author and Master Solvers' Club panelist for The Bridge World as well as a member of the ACBL's National Appeals Committee. He is married with Dana Berkowitz.
